Final panel podcast from Science Blogging Conference

Thanks to Richard and Lisa for getting THIS audio from the final panel session of the Nature’s Science Blogging Conference at the RI in London.

4:15 – 5:30 Embracing change: taking online science into the future
Richard Grant, Cameron Neylon and Peter Murray-Rust. Moderated by Timo Hannay.

The panelists summarise the key themes of the day and provide a look into the future of online communication and collaboration in science. The goal is for attendees to come away with things they can do to enhance communication of science online.

It is a cracker of a session, well worth a listen even tho the levels are a bit dodgey in places. After a lot of two an fro about the value or otherwise as blogs to the reputation and career of scientists there is a fascinating section on citizen science (something that is close to the heart of the sciencegeekspeak.com conglomerate).
Enjoy, spread the word and let’s get people talking about Science!

  2. What a fantastic day! And Lisa’s reflection blog at http://bridge8.wordpress.com/2008/09/01/sciblogging-conference-reflections/ has also given me some thoughts about blogging. Why do we do it? And why do we podcast here? Connection, sharing ideas and improving on what I would have done in isolation are the key drivers for me.
